Anniversary of Kim Il Sung's Work Observed

Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- A national meeting took place here today to mark the 50th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's famous work "On Increasing the Production of Consumer Goods and Improving Distribution of Goods".
Present there were Premier of the Cabinet Kim Yong Il and officials concerned and officials and working people in the fields of light industry and commerce in the city.
Clarified in the work are the issue of building local industrial factories producing consumer goods in cities and counties by tapping locally available reserves and possibilities through a mass movement and the issue of thoroughly establishing the socialist commercial system to improve the distribution of goods and other issues.
Kwak Pom Gi, vice-premier of the Cabinet, in a report at the meeting said that the work of the President is an immortal famous work of great theoretical and practical significance in improving the people's standard of living and serves as important guidelines which give powerful spurs to the development of light industry and socialist commerce.
The reporter recalled the fact that after advancing revolutionary and original ideas and line the President made endless journeys for on-the-spot guidance and energetically led the construction of local industrial factories and commercial distribution.
The noble intention of the President has been successfully materialized thanks to the experienced and seasoned leadership of Kim Jong Il, who has perfectly embodied the Juche-oriented idea and theory on economic construction, the reporter noted.
The reporter referred to the immortal ideological and theoretical exploits he has performed by carrying forward and developing the President's idea and line on building local industry.
The reporter called for bringing about a fresh turn in the production of consumer goods and in the development of socialist commerce with the firm determination to build economy serving the people with their own efforts, technology and locally available resources and improve the standard of their living.
