Rodong Sinmun Calls for Vigorous Movement for National Reunification
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)
Pyongyang, January 26 (KCNA) -- All Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should conduct a vigorous movement for national reunification to bring earlier the dawn of reunification, holding aloft the banner of "By our nation itself".
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
It goes on:
The reality more urgently requires the Koreans to intensify the movement for national reunification by their concerted efforts as clarified in the Oct. 4 declaration.
It is prerequisite to terminating the tragedy of national division as early as possible and achieving the national reunification to wage a vigorous movement for national reunification.
Neither difficulties nor obstacles lying in the way of reunification are insurmountable if the Koreans at home and abroad turn out as one in the above-said movement with patriotic zeal and fighting spirit.
For the divided Korean nation to wage a dynamic movement for national reunification is the only way of carving out a rosy future of national prosperity. It is an urgent requirement of the June 15 era of reunification to steadily develop the above-said movement.
The October 4 Declaration for Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity is exciting all Koreans in the north and the south and overseas and encouraging them to promote the patriotic cause of reunification with strong national self-esteem as it represents the desire of all the fellow countrymen for independent reunification and peace and prosperity and the need of the June 15 era of reunification.
It is a sacred national duty of the present generation to steadily escalate the above-mentioned movement.
If Koreans fail to achieve the reunification of the country in the present generation, the task will be devolved upon the generations to come.
If the divided country is handed down to posterity, this will bring most unbearable national shame to the present generation and amount to committing an indelible crime against the generations to come.
Whoever has the blood and soul of a Korean should come out in the reunification movement to have the country reunified in the present generation.
