Homage Paid to Kim Il Sung

Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Senior party and state officials, the chairman of a friendly party and leading officials of party and power organs, public organizations, ministries and national institutions visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace on Tuesday to pay homage to President Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the New Year Juche 97 (2008).
Seen on either side of the statue of the President were flags of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Republic and colors of the Korean People's Army and honor guards of the three services of the KPA.

Amidst the playing of "Song of General Kim Il Sung" a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the WPK Central Military Commission, the DPRK National Defence Commission, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet was placed before the statue.
Written on the ribbon of the floral basket were letters "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung is immortal."
The participants paid high tribute to the statue.
That day anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, officials of ministries and national institutions, KPA servicepersons and people from all walks of life visited the palace.
Commanding officers of the KPA also visited the palace that day to pay profound homage to the President.
The diplomatic corps, the military attaches corps and representatives of international organizations here visited the palace on the same day to pay homage to the President.
