o Inside North Korea
(Feb. 26) North Korea’s Rodong Shinmun said in its editorial, “In today’s struggle, in which everything is difficult and fraught with hardship and hurdles, there is no weapon stronger than an ideology." It underscored, “Now is the time to appeal to the patriotism of all civilians and men in uniform by displaying the power of the party’s ideological projects and by spreading the energetic drumbeat of economic construction.”

o Outside North Korea
(Mar. 2) North Korea’s Rodong Shinmun maintained, "Under today’s circumstances in which the reckless war on terrorism launched by the US threatens the peace and security of the world, Japan is pursuing legalization of its Self-Defense Forces’ overseas military activities, expanding its overseas dispatch under the pretext of UN operations. Japan must bear in mind that if Japanese reactionaries take the path of foreign invasion under the patronage of the US it will ultimately lead to Japan’s self-destruction, and should immediately stop its imprudent militaristic actions.”
