Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit

   Pyongyang, December 21 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected KPA Unit 1315.
    Walking round the monument to the on-the-spot guidance given by President Kim Il Sung, he was briefed on the history of the unit. He highly appreciated the great successes made by the servicepersons of the unit in the past through a dynamic drive to implement the on-the-spot instructions given by the President.
    He learned about the unit's performance of duty before watching its servicepersons in training.
    He set forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines for further intensifying the combat training, a basic guarantee for increasing its combat capability.
    He acquainted himself with the political work conducted among the servicepersons, going round a political lecture room, an educational room and other cultural and educational facilities.
    He praised the unit for having trained all its servicepersons as fighters of Ri Su Bok and Kang Ho Yong types in the era of Songun possessed of ardent patriotism by dynamically conducting the political work to suit their characteristic features.
    Informed that the beautiful trait of the unity between the army and the people is being fully displayed at the unit, he underscored the need to take a lot of pictures of soldiers and people helping and leading each other forward to make these fine traits known.
    He took deep care of the living of soldiers, making the rounds of a bedroom, a mess hall, a wash-cum-bath house, a kimchi store, a non-staple food store, a barn and other supply service facilities.
    He was greatly satisfied to learn that the unit has provided its soldiers with rich diet by successfully doing sideline farming and stock breeding and other sideline job. This signal success is the fruition of the tenacious efforts made by the commanding officers and men of the unit in firm unity, he added.
    He gave the servicepersons of the unit a pair of binoculars, a machine gun and an automatic rifle as gifts and had a photo session with them.
    He was accompanied by KPA Generals Hyon Chol Hae and Ri Myong Su.
