Standard-Bearers of Songun Revolution Reared by Great Commander

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- With the approach of the 16th anniversary (December 24) of Kim Jong Il's taking the Supreme Commandership of the Korean People's Army, the Korean people are looking back on the exploits performed by him in training KPA soldiers into the standard-bearers and main force of the Songun revolution.
He has made an endless journey of on-spot inspection to KPA units over the last four decades or more since he visited the Guard Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105 Tank Division.
He put forth an army building program for modeling the whole army on the Juche idea and strengthened it into the army of the leader and the Party both in name and in reality.
He expounded the essence and requirements of the slogan "a-match-for-a hundred" set forth by President Kim Il Sung and ways for its realization, thus indicating a guideline for converting the KPA into an invincible army. He has also put his heart and soul into the modernization of its armaments.
Having strengthened the KPA into a one-match-for-a hundred revolutionary army faithful to the Party's leadership, he placed deep trust in it as the main force for the accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Juche after the mid-1990s when the revolution faced a grim test.
And he formulated the fighting spirit displayed by soldiers in fulfilling the orders of the Supreme Commander as revolutionary soldier spirit and led the army to set examples in the van of socialist construction through a fuller display of the spirit.
Under his leadership, they have successfully built large power stations, express highways and modern factories, carried out land rezoning and excavation of waterways and made a breakthrough in difficult and strained fields such as power industry, coal production and agriculture under the slogan "Let us take charge both of national defense and socialist construction!".
They set a pattern of a new socialist culture in the course of conducting brisk activities of company art performances vividly reflecting their militant and optimistic life with popular musical instruments, while sprucing up all buildings including barracks, mess halls and storehouses of subsidiary foodstuffs and operating their own bases of vegetable production and stockbreeding.
The revolutionary soldier spirit, fighting morale and mode of life of the servicepersons have set the whole country aboil with revolutionary vigor and passion.
