Anniversary of Kim Il Sung's Work Observed

   Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today dedicates a signed article to the 40th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's work "Let Us Embody the Revolutionary Spirit of Independence, Self-Sustenance and Self-Defence More Thoroughly in All Branches of State Activity."
    The revolutionary line of independence, self-sustenance and self-defence serves as an immortal banner for building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation in the present era, the article says, and goes on:
    Korean-style socialism which enjoys high dignity for independence, self-sustenance and self-defence is the precious fruition of the far-sighted wisdom, fixed faith and seasoned and tested leadership of the President.
    The Korean people will always remember the undying feats he performed by turning the DPRK into an invincible socialist country, which boasts total independence in politics, self-support in economy and self-reliance in national defence, under the banner of the Juche idea.
    His line of building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation on the basis of independence, self-sustenance and self-defence has been creditably carried forward by Kim Jong Il.
    Kim Jong Il has established the unique Songun political mode, an embodiment of the Juche idea, in all fields and made sure that the revolution and construction have been pushed forward on the principle of giving priority to military affairs. This marked an epoch-making event as it helped significantly exalt the dignity and position of the country as a sovereign state.
    Kim Jong Il has enforced the Songun politics, exalting the above-said dignity of the country. His wise leadership found its manifestation in the fact that he saw to it that the politico-ideological might of the country was increased in every way and utmost efforts were exerted to bolster its capability for self-defence and the banner of self-reliance was lifted higher in building a great prosperous powerful nation.
    The Korean people will surely build a dignified great prosperous powerful socialist nation on this land by successfully implementing with consistency the revolutionary line of independence, self-sustenance and self-defence under the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il.
