Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Air Force Unit

   Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected KPA air force unit 874.
    After acquainting himself with the unit's performance of duty, he saw the victorious course covered by the unit.
    Kim Jong Il highly praised the feats performed by the unit, noting that the unit has traversed a glorious path of shining victories for a long period as it was born and developed into matchless combat ranks under the warm care and wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung.
    He watched airmen in training in the drill grounds.
    He was satisfied to learn that the unit has made energetic endeavors to thoroughly implement the WPK's military line, thus fully preparing all airmen as self-blasting fighters of Hero Kil Yong Jo type in the sky.
    He dropped in at a room for getting ready for flight to learn about the combat readiness and highly praised the airmen for reliably defending the sky of the country.
    Noting that it is the most worthwhile and proud life and the highest honor for an independent human-being to live as a hero and become such fighter, he urged everybody to become a hero in the sacred struggle to defend the country.
    He took warm care of the service and living of the airmen as their father would do, going round the servicemen's hall, a bedroom, a mess hall, a wash-cum-bath house, a daily provision store and other places of the unit.
    He expressed satisfaction over the fact that the unit has built sufficient entertainment and educational and supply service facilities and conducted effective ideological work by various methods to suit the peculiarities of the airmen.
    All our proud airmen are fighters strong in faith and idea as they are filled with ardent patriotism to readily dedicate their youth and lives to the defence of the country, he said, adding that the country is like an invulnerable fortress as the sky of the country is reliably guarded by these ranks.
    He had a photo session with the servicepersons of the unit.
