Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Indoor Stadium situated on the bank of the Pothong River flowing through Pyongyang is crowded with working people and school youth and children who are conducting sports activities.
It, opened in April Juche 62 (1973), covers an area of 350,000 square meters and has a total floor space of about 70,000 square meters.
There is a ground of 4,600 square meters on the first floor of the stadium where 18 kinds of games can be held at a time.
It has training rooms for table-tennis, wrestling, judo, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball and boxing and folk playgrounds for Korean chess, paduk (go), etc. It has well-furnished service facilities including the rooms of rest, shower, sauna and toilets for players.
There are outside of the stadium three ponds covering more than 8,500 square meters, group sculptures depicting athletes and artistes and tennis, basketball and badminton courts and a roller skating ground.
The working people and school youth and children are enjoying their holidays, building up their bodies with various physical culture and sports activities there.
Various sporting events for Mangyongdae Cup and Paektusan Cup, DPRK Championships and other games are held there every year.
