Kim Jong Il Enjoys Art Performance Given by KPA Company Soldiers

Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il enjoyed an art performance given by soldiers of companies under KPA Unit 775 and KPA Unit 176 who participated in the 31st art festival of servicepersons.
Among the audience were Kim Kyok Sik, chief of the General Staff of the KPA, Kim Il Chol, minister of the People's Armed Forces, Kim Jong Gak, first vice-director of the General Political Department of the KPA, KPA General Hyon Chol Hae, KPA Lieut. General Jong Thae Gun and other commanding officers of the KPA.
The repertoire of the performance included poem and chorus "The General Visits a Post", story-telling and chorus "Our General Is Best", chorus and story-telling "Soldier's Old Home Full of Joy", duet "Loving Care Given Full Play between Officers and Men during Their March", solos "The Country Which I Am Standing Guard Over" and "Blue Sky over My Country", interlude "Let's Bring It into Fuller Bloom", song and story-telling "Days of Our Service as Soldiers," narration and song "Dear General, Where Are You" and chorus "We'll Hold Our Rifles More Tightly" and other colorful numbers of diverse genres. The performers truthfully represented the might of the heroic KPA and a glimpse of its servicepersons' worthwhile military service and powerfully demonstrated the strong faith and will and militant spirit of all servicepersons to devotedly defend the headquarters of the revolution and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche with arms.
Hearing a-match-for-a hundred servicepersons sing the songs of loyalty and struggle, the whole audience extended the highest glory and warmest thanks to Kim Jong Il who has trained the KPA as the army strong in idea and faith with his Songun revolutionary leadership.
After watching the performance given by the brave and stalwart soldiers, Kim Jong Il expressed great satisfaction over the fact that all the company soldiers have prepared themselves to be a-match-for-a hundred fighters and grown to be creators of culture of Songun with high cultural attainments. He highly appreciated their successful performance and extended thanks to them.
It is an important work for increasing the combat capability of the unit to energetically conduct cultural and art activities among soldiers, he said, setting forth the tasks to be fulfilled to intensify art activities at all units including companies.
