Internal Affairs
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on October 8 that the 3 rd Pyongyang Autumn International Commodity Exhibition was held at the Three-Revolution Exhibition from October 8 to 11, attended by 150 companies from 10 nations.
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on October 9 that farmers in Yanggang-do are concentrating their capability on harvesting potatoes.
- Through the political essay in Rodong Sinmun , North Korea propagated Kim Jong Il’s achievements made under his leadership for the past ten years since his inauguration as the Secretary General of the KWP.
- On the occasion of 62 nd anniversary of founding of KWP, Chairman Kim Jong Il watched the Grand Mass Gymnastics and Artistic Performance Arirang at May Day Stadium with high-level officials on October 10, reported the Central Broadcasting Station on October 11.
- Celebrating ceremony for the 100 th birthday of Kim Hyok who was known to join Kim Il Song in revolutionary fighting against Japan was held at People’s Palace of Culture on October 11, reported the Central Broadcasting Station on October 11.
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on October 12 that under the joint auspices of the South’s Yonhap News and Japan ’s Kyodo News, photography exhibition of tomb frescos of Goguryeo was held at the Korean Central History Museum in Pyongyang on October 11.
- On the occasion of 60 th anniversary of founding Mangyongdae Revolutionary School on October 12, North Korea stressed that bereaved children of revolutionaries are the main framework for succeeding to military-first policy, reported the Central Broadcasting Station on October 12.
Foreign Affairs
- Attended by the 2,000 members, Chongryun held large-scale assembly supporting and welcoming the 2007 South-North Declaration in Tokyo on October 6.
- North Korean Taekwondo demonstration team visited the U.S. on October 4 for goodwill tour until October 17.
- Since the North’s nuclear test on October 9, 2006 , the international community has taken sanctions against North Korea centering on UN Security Council Resolution. However, nuclear crisis is entering the phase of solution as the six-party talks began and five working-level meetings resumed.
- The Mongolian governmental economic delegation led by vice-minister of Industry and Trade visited North Korea from October 6 to 11 and met with Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK to discuss expanding cooperation.
- Since the BDA issue was solved in June, North Korea has actively promoted diplomacy and consulting with related nations.
