   Pyongyang, September 29 (KCNA) -- The five-point policy for great national unity clarified by Kim Jong Il is a successful embodiment of the Juche-oriented line of great national unity put forward by President Kim Il Sung and a great programme for great national unity in the June 15 era of reunification as it gives comprehensive answers to the theoretical and practical problems arising in achieving the great unity of the Korean nation in accordance with the changing reality. Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a signed article.
    The Koreans should wage a more dynamic patriotic movement for national unity and reunification upholding the five-point policy for great national unity clarified by Kim Jong Il as a sacred banner of independent national reunification, the article says, and goes on:
    The great national unity should be achieved on the principle of national independence under any circumstances.
    This principle is the core issue in settling national affairs and a basis for achieving the great national unity. The great unity of the nation based on that principle alone can be a decisive factor of promoting national reunification and prosperity.
    The principle of national independence which calls for strongly rejecting flunkeyism and dependence on foreign forces alone can guarantee victory in the cause of great national unity.
    The Korean nation should unite under the banner of patriotism, the banner of national reunification.
    Whoever stands for the great national unity in order to achieve national reunification, the greatest interest common to the nation, is a patriot while those who stand in the way of achieving great national unity are traitors to the nation.
    The improved inter-Korean relations are urgent for achieving national unity and the country's reunification.
    The events in which the June 15 joint declaration was adopted and the idea "By our nation itself" was put forward to reject the foreign forces and achieve independent reunification by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation marked historic occasions in putting an end to the era of the inter-Korean confrontation and developing new inter-Korean relations of reconciliation and unity.
    The nation is called upon to put up a more resolute struggle against the foreign forces' domination and interference and the traitors, anti-reunification forces who are in league with them.
    All Koreans in the north, the south and abroad should promote their visits and contacts, develop dialogue and boost solidarity and alliance.
