Internal Affairs
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on September 1 that autumn harvesting of wheat and barley began at cooperative farms in Daehungdan-gun, Yanggang-do.
- According to the reports by the Central Broadcasting Station on September 1 and 2, Chairman Kim Jeong-il gave on-the-spot guidance at several places as follows:
Manpo refinery, Aprokgang diamond plant, February steel works complex, Jeoncheon jackhammer factory, Jeoncheon commerce management office, and Jeoncheon industrial goods store.
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on September 4 that central reporting session celebrating the 30 th anniversary of publication of Kim Il-sung’s ‘ Theses on Socialist Education’ was held at the People’s Palace of Culture on September 4.
- Chairman Kim Jeong-il watched plastic arts performance given by soldiers’ family of Unit963, reported the Central Broadcasting Station on September 5.
- On the occasion of the 59 th anniversary of founding of the North Korean regime, central reporting session was held at April 25 Hall of Culture with the attendance of leading figures on September 8, reported the Central Broadcasting Station on September 8.
Inter-Korean Affairs
- In September, North Korea criticizes the South less frequently than before and the level of criticism became low.
Foreign Affairs
- The delegation of Loxley Pacific Company Limited of Thailand visited North Korea from September 1 to 4, reported Pyonyang Broadcasting Services on September 1 and the Central Broadcasting Station on September 4.
- North Korea and China held the China-North Korea Joint Commission on Economy, Trade and Science & Technology in Beijing on September 4.
- North Korean delegation led by minister of foreign affairs Park Eui-chun attended the ministerial talks of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) on Human Rights and Cultural Diversity in Tehran from September 3 to 4.
- North Korea - Japan working-level talks on normalizing relations was held at Ulan Bator from September 5 to 6.
- During August, the number of visit by several-level delegations to the North was 11, similar to that of the previous month.
