Songun Politics Praised as Patriotic Politics for Independent Reunification

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- The Songun politics is great patriotic one as it guarantees the achievement of national sovereignty and peaceful reunification and firmly promises even the bright future of the reunified country.
Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
The vitality of the Songun politics lies in that it serves as an invincible weapon for protecting the way of national independence and guaranteeing independent reunification in reliance upon the matchless army and as a treasured sword reflecting patriotism as it helps remove the danger of war from the Korean Peninsula and achieve national reconciliation, unity and peaceful reunification.
Reflected in the banner of Songun are the firm will and intention of the Korean people to defend the sovereignty of the country and nation and achieve independent reunification without fail as unanimously desired by the nation.
The DPRK has firmly protected the national dignity and sovereignty while increasing the nation's defence power in every way under the banner of Songun in view of the evermore undisguised hostile moves of the United States to invade it.
The present reality goes to prove that but for such powerful weapon as Songun the prospect of national independence would have been gloomy and the cause of national reunification would have met frustration.
Under the umbrella of peace provided by Songun Koreans are now holding events for reunification, safely visiting each other and sharing compatriotic feelings, and thereby consolidating the national unity. The Songun politics serves as a powerful weapon for defending peace and a decisive factor of promoting national reconciliation and unity and accelerating the reunification of the country, concludes the article.
