Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided guidance to the work of factory itinerant art agitation groups.
He acquainted himself with the agitation activities of itinerant art agitation groups of the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Factory, the Taean Heavy Machine Complex and the Tobacco Complex, watching the performances given by them under different circumstances.
He said that the itinerant art agitation the advantages and vitality of which have been clearly proved in the practical struggle in the past has become an important means of educating the masses for its great influence and attraction and set forth the tasks facing itinerant art agitation groups in their activities.
The itinerant art agitation is an advantageous political work which helps make the greatest success as it is conducted at production sites in a flexible manner with lightning speed, he said, noting that the experience gained at several factories vividly shows what great strength working people display when they are firmly armed with transparent working class consciousness and encouraged to give full play to their revolutionary enthusiasm and creative ingenuity.
Saying that the present stirring era requires more appealing agitation than ever before, he stressed the need to conduct all agitation work the same militant way as the political work was done on heights and in trenches in flames on the frontline to arouse combatants to fight decisive battles, their hearts burning with the pledge of loyalty, during the past Fatherland Liberation War.
The basic requirement of the information service and agitation of anti-Japanese guerrilla style is to go among the masses and conduct them in keeping with the specific conditions without formality and style, he said, adding that to this end the members of the agitation groups should proceed to the production sites with knapsacks on their backs and share sweets and bitters with them in order to arouse their intense loyalty.
He stressed the need for the factories to follow the example of the People's Army and direct big efforts to the mass cultural work so that the workers may get fully prepared in terms of working class awareness and culture.
He called upon the Party organizations at the factories and enterprises to direct deep attention to the work of the itinerant art agitation groups.
He expressed expectation and conviction that all the factories and enterprises would conduct powerful ideological offensive through the itinerant art agitation groups and all other information service and agitation means and thus bring about a great leap.
