Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected KPA Unit 1286.
After acquainting himself with the unit's performance of duty and its servicepersons' training, he expressed satisfaction over the fact that all the commanding officers and soldiers of the unit have performed their combat duties with high vigilance in a responsible manner and grown to be a-match-for-a hundred fighters possessed of high military technique and combat capability by steadily intensifying the training.
Feasting his eyes on the thick woodland around the unit and seeing the barracks kept neat and tidy even in the rainy season, he highly praised the patriotism displayed by the servicepersons of the unit, saying that they are regarding every tree and every blade of grass of the country as their own lives and taking good care of them and sprucing up their barracks by learning from the lifestyle of the Anti-Japanese Guerilla Army.
He praised the unit for having sincerely helped the people in the area where it is stationed in land administration and other work.
He gave the servicepersons of the unit a pair of binoculars, a machine gun and an automatic rifle as gifts and had a photo session with them.
