Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA)-- General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave on-site guidance to the Hamhung Disabled Soldiers' Plastic Daily Necessities Factory.
He was accompanied by Hong Song Nam, chief secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the WPK.
He learned about the production at the factory, going round the several places of the factory including the injection-molded boot shop and the raincoat shop. He gave warm pep talks to disabled soldiers.
He highly appreciated the patriotic deeds of disabled soldiers and their families, greatly pleased to learn that they are performing feats in implementing the Party's economic policy in the same spirit as displayed during their service in the army.
He said that the disabled soldiers are the precious core members of the Party as they shed blood in the struggle for the country and the people, underscoring the need to always pay deep attention to their work and living.
After setting forth tasks to be implemented by the factory, the mother base and centre for the production of vinyl chloride products, in its management and operation, he expressed his expectation and conviction that the officials, workers and technicians of the factory would devote all their wisdom and enthusiasm to the production and thus supply greater quantities of well-designed useful consumer goods to the people.
He appreciated a performance given by the art group of the South Hamgyong Provincial Art Troupe.
He warmly congratulated the artistes on their successful performance, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that they presented a splendid performance high in its political standard and the spirit of the times as it gave answers to the social questions arising in the era of Songun.
He proposed tasks to be carried out by the group in its creative activities.
