Kim Jong Il Inspects Command of KPA Combined Unit

   Pyongyang, August 1 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected the command of KPA Combined Unit 264.
    He dropped in at the operation commanding room to learn about the unit's performance of duty from its commander.
    He set forth the tasks to be fulfilled by the unit to increase its combat capability in every way, expressing satisfaction over the fact that its servicepersons have consolidated the military fortress of Korean-style socialism as firm as an invulnerable iron wall by thoroughly implementing the WPK's military line.
    Then he looked round the gymnasium, vegetable greenhouse and other places of the unit.
    He was greatly pleased to learn that the unit has successfully built supply service facilities to improve the servicepersons' living and facilities for strengthening their physical training and made an effective use of them and that it is supplying fresh vegetables to them in all seasons by constructing vegetable greenhouses of high economic value, in particular. He appreciated the efforts exerted by the commanding officers of the unit for providing its servicepersons with good living conditions by paying deep attention to the supply service.
    Going round the compound of the unit kept neat and tidy like a park, he said that this vividly shows the proud appearance of the KPA which has inherited the lifestyle of the Anti-Japanese Guerilla Army.
    Noting that in recent years the unit has done a lot of things in all aspects including the work to bolster its combat capability and its management, he highly appreciated its achievements.
    At the end of his inspection he together with servicepersons of the combined unit enjoyed an art performance given by its art squad at the servicepersons' hall.
    Greatly pleased to see the splendid performance high in ideological value and artistry given by the squad, he highly praised it for its successful performance and militant art activities.
    He was accompanied by Hwang Pyong So and Kim Sung Yon, vice department directors of the WPK Central Committee.
