Internal Affairs
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on June 1 that friendship meeting commemorating the 57 th International Children’s Day was held at Mangyongdae.
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on June 2 that Chairman Kim Jeong-il inspected factories and enterprises in the Jagangdo region.
- According to the report by the Central Broadcasting Station on June 6, commemorative event for the World Environment Day was held at Changdeok School on June 5.
- Chairman Kim Jeong-il watched a performance by art groups of servicemen’s families of Unit 313 and Unit 593 of the KPA that participated in the 10 th contest among art groups of servicemen’s families on June 6, reported the Central Broadcasting Station on June 6.
- Commemorating the 61 st anniversary of founding the Juvenile Corps, several events were held. In addition, the Rodong Daily proposed acquirement of sufficient knowledge by the member of the Juvenile Corps as top priority and emphasized the improvement of ability to use information on computer and scientific technology.
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on June 7 that bean planting came to the finish at several farming region.
- Chairman Kim Jeong-il gave on-the-spot guidance at several enterprises and cooperative farms in Pyongan-bukdo.
Inter-Korean Affairs
- The National Reunification Institute criticized the South’s Grand National Party on June 6, saying the Party cannot be free from the responsibility for economic failure of South Korea and has no right to say about the livelihood of the people.
- The spokesperson of the DPRK's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland announced a statement on June 9, saying the South’s conservative press is denying the inter-Korean national solidarity.
- The spokesperson of the Korean National Peace Committee announced a statement on June 10, saying the South’s strengthening the national defense is serious challenge to the whole nation and provocation against its counterpart.
Foreign Affairs
- North Korean delegate, led by the vice-minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Hyoung-jun, visited four nations of Central and South Africa such as Cuba , Venezuela , Brazil , and Nicaragua from May 7 to 26.
- North Korean delegate, led by the vice-chairman of presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly Yang Hyoung-sub, visited Nigeria and met with the new president from May 27 to 31, and visited Ethiopia on its way back from May 31 to June 2.
- At the Democracy and Security Conference in Prague on June 5, the U.S. president George W. Bush designated North Korea as one of the world’s worst dictatorships.
- North Korea criticized Japan for increasing the ban on the entry of the North Korean Mangyongbong to Japanese ports to six months more, saying it is barbarous act.
- North Korea has continuously criticized Japan for planning to set up Missile Defense system, etc.
