Internal Affairs
- Korean Central News Agency reported on May 23 that the 11 th meeting of the Forestry Sub-committee of the Committee for Cooperation in Trade, Economy and Science and Technology between the governments of the DPRK and the Russian Federation was held on May 22, and protocol was concluded.
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on May 25 that reporting session was held on May 24 to commemorate the 60 th anniversary of founding Kim Jong Suk sanatorium.
- Pyongyang Broadcasting Services reported on May 25 that construction of Sariwon pig farm was at the last stage in Sariwon city, Hwanghae bukdo.
Inter-Korean Affairs
- According to the report by the Central Broadcasting Station on May 24, the spokesperson of the North Korean Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation announced a statement to condemn conservatives saying it was a provocation to link inter-Korean cooperative projects to nuclear issues.
- The Rodong Daily published a comment on May 26, criticizing South Korean former mayor of Seoul Lee Myongbak for his remark on North Korea and policy toward North Korea .
- According to the report by the Korean Central News Agency on May 21, KPA navy command maintained that the South had carried out provocative deeds continuously, invading the territorial waters of the North.
Foreign Affairs
- John D. Negroponte, Deputy Secretary of State announced that in addition to Iran , Syria , Venezuela , and Cuba , North Korea was included in the list of countries that are non-cooperative in the fight against terrorism.
- According to the reports by the Rodong Daily, the Central Broadcasting Station, Pyongyang Broadcasting Services, and Korean Central News Agency from May 21 to 23, North Korea had recently intensified criticizing Japan regarding abduction, building up military strength, and preemptive strike.
- The Rodong Daily announced a statement, criticizing Japan regarding the spelling of East Sea .
- The trade volume between North Korea and China during the first quarter of 2007 increased by 13.8 percent from the same period a year earlier, recording 330million dollars.
- Export from North Korea to China : 130million dollars (increased by 13.8 percent)
- Import from China to North Korea : 200million dollars (decreased by 2.4 percent)
- Trade Balance : deficit of 74million dollars (decreased by 61.3 percent)
