Internal Affairs
- Commemorating the 75 th anniversary of foundation of People’s Army (April 25, 1932), North Korea held several events including issuing memorial stamp and formal military inspection, attended by Chairman Kim Jongil.
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on April 25 that commemorating the 75 th anniversary of foundation of People’s Army, Chairman Kim Jongil worshiped at Kumsusan Memorial Palace and watched commemorative performance of merited choir of KPA.
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on April 24 that power plant is being constructed in Manpo city, Jagangdo.
- Pyongyang Broadcasting Services reported on April 23 that Hwanghae bukdo is focusing on the final stage of land management project.
- Workers of the Ministry of Railways in Hamhung are making an effort to raise the intensity of rails, reported the Pyongyang Broadcasting Services on April 23 and the Central Broadcasting Station on April 24.
- North Korea ’s ambassador to Italy has been changed from Choi Taeksan to Han Daeseong, reported the Central Broadcasting Station on April 24.
Inter-Korean Affairs
- Under the title ‘The key to the success of the inter-Korean economic cooperation is nation-first spirit, the lesson from the tough negotiation (unofficial translation)’, Chosun Sinbo assessed the result of the 13 th round meeting of the Inter-Korean Economic Cooperation Promotion Committee.
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on April 27 that the spokesperson of the Korean National Peace Committee announced a statement on April 27 to criticize South Korea for strengthening its national defense.
Foreign Affairs
- In 2007, North Korea has tried to abandon its hard line policy and begin negotiation and dialogue.
- Under the title ‘The reason why the BDA issue is not solved (unofficial translation),’ Chosun Sinbo criticized the U.S. , saying the key to solve the problem is normal trade under the international financial system through remittance of the frozen fund.
- Under the title ‘The U.S. force policy, on the verge of failure (unofficial translation),’ Rodong Sinmun criticized the U.S. force policy, saying it is on the verge of failure owing to opposition by the internal and international community.
