Joint National Meeting of KCU Organizations Held

   Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union organizations was held at the square of the Kumsusan Memorial Palace Saturday on the occasion of the 95th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
    It was attended by representatives of KCU organizations in various provinces and KCU members here and schoolchildren joining the KCU.
    Present there on invitation were Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop, Kim Jung Rin, Minister of Education Kim Yong Jin, anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, officials of institutions of science, education, literature and art, sports and media, officials of party bodies and organizations of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League in Pyongyang, war veterans, persons of merit and parents of schoolchildren.
    The participants offered salutes in humble reverence to the portrait of smiling Kim Il Sung.
    Kim Kyong Ho, first secretary of the C. C., the youth league, in his report said that the whole life of the President was the life of the great father who devoted everything to the rising generation.
    Noting that the history of the President's love for the younger generation is given steady continuity thanks to Kim Jong Il, the reporter called on all the members of the KCU to firmly prepare themselves as genuine successors to the revolutionary cause of Juche, the cause of Songun befitting the younger generation of Songun Korea.
    There was a ceremony of admission to the KCU.
    Led by anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter Ri Jong San, the children joining the KCU took a solemn oath before the flag of the KCU.
    Officials, war veterans, persons of merit and officials of the party and the youth league put red ties around the necks of those children and pinned KCU badges on their chests.
    The new members of the KCU made the first KCU salute "Ready Always!" in loud response to the slogan "Ready always for the socialist motherland!"
    Congratulatory speeches were made by war veteran Kim Song Man, Dr. Myong Kum Chol, department head of Kim Il Sung University, and Labor Hero and People's Sportsman Pae Kil Su, deputy secretary general of the Gymnastic Association.
