Internal Affairs
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on April 22 that Chairman Kim Jongil inspected the KPA Navy Unit 790 and 1637.
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on April 14 that 55 generals including 10 lieutenant generals and 45 major generals had been promoted.
- Commemorating the anniversary of Kim Ilsong’s 95 th birthday, North Korea has created a celebrating atmosphere by holding diverse events starting from early April and has focused on raising the people’s loyalty by reminding them of Kim Ilsong.
- Korean Central News Agency reported on April 18 that enlarged plenary meeting of the DPRK was held, attended by cabinet member including new Prime Minister Kim Youngil.
- The Central Broadcasting Station reported on April 15 that commemorating the anniversary of Kim Ilsong’s 95 th birthday, a mass gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang” started at the May Day Stadium on April 14.
Inter-Korean Affairs
- The 13 th round meeting of the Inter-Korean Economic Cooperation Promotion Committee was held in Pyongyang from April 18 to 22. The two sides discussed the pending issues regarding the inter-Korean economic cooperation projects and announced the ten-point agreements that include schedule of test run of trains on inter-Korean railways.
- Pyongyang Broadcasting Services reported on April 22 that the spokesperson of the DPRK’s Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland announced a statement to condemn the South Korean Prime Minister for his remarks on the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.
- Chosun Sinbo denounced South Korea for delayed schedule of the 13 th meeting of the Inter-Korean Economic Cooperation Promotion Committee, citing the North’s remarks.
Foreign Affairs
- Under the title, “Delayed Implementation of the February 13 Agreement, the Lessons from the BDA Issues”, Chosun Sinbo said the BDA row would give the U.S. negotiation team a bitter lessons. Also it maintained the removing the financial sanction against North Korea should be guaranteeing normal financial trade.
- Korean Central News Agency reported on April 20 that North Korea released the letter to Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and manifested its commitment to invite the IAEA inspectors and implement the February 13 agreement as soon as the BDA issue is settled.
- Pyongyang Broadcasting Services reported on April 17 that Chinese Communist Party delegation led by Liu Hongcai, a deputy head of the party's international liaison department visited North Korea , invited by the International Department of the Korean Workers Party from April 17 to 21.
- The North Korean delegation led by Kim Youngil, deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs left Pyongyang on April 14 to visit several Asian nations including India . Diplomatic delegates of four nations- Indonesia , India , Pakistan , and Iran-in North Korea saw them off at the Pyongyang airport.
- The volume of the North Korean trade with China from January to February 2007 increased by 32.1percent from the same period a year earlier, recording 220million dollars.
