Pyongyang, March 30 (KCNA) -- The RSOI and Foal Eagle joint military exercises launched by the U.S. imperialist aggressor troops and south Korean warmongers are in their height, according to a military source.
On March 26 and 27, hundreds of groups comprising thousands of "commandoes" of an airborne special warfare brigade belonging to the "Special Warfare Command" and a commando regiment of every army corps of the south Korean forces infiltrated into the imaginary theatres of operations to observe, spy on, assault, destroy and destabilize the strategic and tactical targets in the DPRK as part of the joint military exercises.
Timed to coincide with this, troops of several army corps and tank and artillery forces of the south Korean forces conducted artillery fire strike drills and a ground offensive operation in coordinated operation with overseas-based U.S. forces and its aggressor troops in south Korea. In the meantime, south Korean troops, police, "Homeland Defence Reserve Forces" and administration institutions also took part in the frantic joint military exercises now under way across south Korea.
Naval warships of the U.S. and 1st, 2nd and 3rd Fleets and other warships of the south Korean navy staged sea blockade and strike maneuvers combined with joint naval operation and live shell-firing drills in the East and West Seas of Korea on March 27 and 28.
Essex, a mixed landing helicopter carrier, and landing craft carrying forces of 1st marine division of the south Korean forces were busy with landing operation exercises, supported by the fire of flying corps and naval artillery on Mar. 28 and 29.
Meanwhile, at least 80 fighters aboard Ronald Reagan, a nuclear-powered super-large carrier functioning as a task force, staged in the East Sea of Korea drills of flying back to it after striking imaginary major targets in the DPRK.
On the same days at least 400 planes of different types such as F-4, F-5, F-15 and F-16 fighter-bombers, F-117 Stealth fighter bomber, F/A-18s, A-10s and KO-1 belonging to the U.S.-based and Japan-based 12th and 5th air forces, the six flying corps including the flying corps of the U.S. navy and 8th combat flying corps of the south Korean air force and 15th mixed flying corps conducted madcap air strike exercises aimed at neutralizing the combat capacity of the DPRK in case of "contingency," supported by E-3 and E-2C.
All parts of south Korea are now ridden with an atmosphere of war against the DPRK due to these provocative war maneuvers now under way on the ground, waters and air and the situation on the Korean Peninsula remains so tense that a war may break out any moment.
