Dynamic Drive for Building of Socialist Economic Power Called for

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article calls for waging a dynamic offensive to reach the high peak of an economic power, noting that the Korean revolution is entering the new historic phase of ushering in a period of full efflorescence in the efforts for the prosperity of the country.
Saying that it is the matured requirement of the developing Korean revolution to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation in which the state power is strong, everything prospers and people lead a happy life with nothing to desire more in the world, the article goes on:
The economic power means a country which has put a self-reliant national economy on a higher level of development, thus having a powerful socialist material and technical foundation commensurate with the appearance of the great prosperous powerful nation, and provides the people with an abundant material and cultural life.
An economy placed on a highly modern and scientific basis calls for equipping all sectors of the national economy with up-to-date equipment and technology which mean ultra-modern science and technology and putting production and management on the latest scientific and technological basis.
It is the firm determination of the Workers' Party of Korea, which regards it as a supreme principle governing its activities to improve the standard of people's living, to make a great advance in solving the food problem of the people and decisively boost the production of mass consumption goods.
The prospect of building a socialist economic power is bright and it is not a long way to scale the eminence of an economic power. The DPRK is fully capable of building an economic power in the near future given the solid springboard from which to build a rich and powerful nation.
