Pyongyang, March 10 (KCNA) -- In order to make bigger progress in the on-going nationwide struggle to bring earlier the future of a reunified country all the Koreans should unite as one under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself" and dynamically propel the process of reconciliation.
Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
If the Koreans are to creditably fulfill their responsibility and role as a driving force for national reunification, they should single-mindedly unite under the banner of patriotism.
If the Koreans in the north and the south and overseas work together and achieve the great national unity on this basis, it will be possible to solve fundamental issues in achieving national reunification and this will help settle other matters with ease.
The period from the day the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration was adopted up to this date keenly convinced the Koreans that the great national unity is the only way for the nation to survive and achieve national reunification. The events and stirring realities that brought about by the Koreans in the movement for Korean reunification, guided by the idea "By our nation itself" are the results of the will of the Koreans to achieve unity and their ardent patriotic desire.
The split of the Korean nation is nothing but a temporary difficulty and misfortune recorded in the national history. It is the law governing the national development for the Korean nation to become one.
No force on earth can keep the homogenous Korean nation divided forever as it came into being and has developed throughout its history spanning 5,000 years and stem the trend of history towards reunification.
The might of the united Korean nation is an engine for bringing about the dawn of national reunification.
Strong are the determination and enthusiasm of the Koreans to glorify the June 15 era of reunification by attaching importance to the nation, defending peace and achieving unity.
It is a sacred and worthwhile struggle for bringing earlier national reunification to implement the above-said three tasks.
The Koreans in the north and the south and overseas should intensify their struggle to glorify the June 15 era of reunification full of conviction of sure victory and thus unroll a new history of peace and reunification on this land as early as possible, the article concludes.
