Preparations for Kimjongilia Festival Progress Apace

Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- Preparations for the 11th Kimjongilia Festival to mark the February holiday (the birthday of Kim Jong Il) are going ahead in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. In an interview with KCNA, Ri Yong Je, a department director of the Korean Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia Committee, said: Festival preparations are being made in different parts of the country. The committee set the dawn of the great, prosperous and powerful nation glowing like the red color of Kimjongilia, the immortal flower, as the festival theme and is directing efforts to arranging the festival venue to suit the theme so as to attach greater significance to it.
The floor of the central hall was renovated and decorations were made.
Festival posters are being created at final stage.
A meeting for exchanging experiences in the cultivation of the immortal flower will be held on the sidelines of the festival in line with the enthusiasm of the people to bring the flower into bloom more beautifully. New scientific and technological issues solved and experiences made in the cultivation of the flower will be published in various forms at the meeting.
The number of applicants has considerably increased than ever before among domestic institutions, overseas Koreans and foreign organizations and individuals.
Kimjongilias are opening flowers at Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia hothouses of ministries and national institutions including the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Ministry of Finance and in different parts of the country.
