Internal Affairs
1. The Central Broadcasting Station and Pyongyang Broadcasting Services reported on January 26 that Orangchon Power Station No. 1 began to be constructed on January 26.
2. Pyongyang Broadcasting Services reported on January 26 that memorial services were held in each temple on the Seongdo Day (January 27), one of the three Buddhist events.
3. Scientists and technicians in each area are striving to accomplish the tasks presented in the Joint New Year’s Editorial under the banner of science and technology revolution, reported the Central Broadcasting Station on February 1.
Inter-Korean Affairs
1. According to the report by the Central Broadcasting Station on January 30, General meeting of the North Korean Committee for the Implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration was held in Pyongyang on January 30. In the meeting, North Korea suggested holding the national joint event commemorating the 7 th anniversary of the announcement of the June 15 Joint Declaration in Pyongyang , and August 15 reunification event in South Korea .
2. The Central Broadcasting Station reported on January 31 that the spokesperson of the Korean Social Democratic Party announced a statement to condemn the South Korean Grand National Party regarding the judgment of acquittal of the People’s Revolutionary Party incident.
Foreign Affairs
- Itra-TassDelta reported on January 31 that Sim Kuk-ryong, North Korean consul general in Nakhodka made clear that North Korea had intention to participate in the development construction in Vladivostok , which is related to APEC.
