Agricultural Working People Vow to Make Epochal Advance

Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- The agricultural working people of the DPRK, with high degree of revolutionary enthusiasm and firm resolution, have all responded to the call of the joint New Year editorial for keeping up farming as the great foundation of the country and making an epoch-making advance in solving the food problem for the people. Kim Hyok Jin, vice-minister of Agriculture, said in an interview with KCNA that all the ministries, national institutions and people's committees of all levels are giving a priority to providing the agricultural sector with farming materials without condition.
He further remarked:
We, in charge of implementing the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on making a revolution in agriculture, are taking measures to properly distribute crops on the principle of the right crop in the right time and on the right soil and to make a giant stride forward in stockbreeding in close contact with officials of provincial, city and county rural economic sectors.
In particular great efforts are being directed to definitely increasing the organic fertilizer production so as to improve the fertility of soil and positively introducing advanced farming technologies so that the potentials of production foundation may be tapped to the maximum.
The tractor accessory factories in Sariwon, Haeju and Jongju are fully supplying various kinds of farm-machine accessory parts to the countryside and solving the raised issues through vigorous mass technical innovation drive.
Meanwhile, the farms across the country are striving to wind up the work of repairing, maintaining and securing farm-machine accessories and small farm implements before the farming season.
Though there are many difficulties, an epochal advance is certain to be made this year thanks to the Party's policy on making a revolution in agriculture, the scientific accuracy and vitality of which have been proved, and the efforts of the agricultural working people supporting the Songun Korea.
