Tailings Treatment Ground Built
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)
Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- Soldiers of the Korean People's Army have succeeded in building a ground for treating tailings, which had been regarded useless. Soldiers of the Ra Son Jae-led unit buckled down to a job to treat and use tailings, saying that the tailings heaped in a mine were precious resources of the country. They did the work of their own accord.
Officers of the unit acquired the ore-dressing technology at their leisure while performing military tasks and developed a new technology of treating tailings in close contact with scientists.
They decided to build a treatment ground at the point of joining of tailing sewers from the ore-dressing plant of the mine and built it in the revolutionary soldier spirit under difficult conditions.
Their devoted efforts bore fruit in a few months.
Now the ground produces concentrated ore of higher grade than what they had expected.
The construction of the treatment ground makes it possible to produce a large quantity of concentrated ore and add beauty to the natural scenery of the surrounding area.
