Internal Affairs

• North Korea held a central report convention commemorating the 15 th year of having Chairman Kim Jeong-il as the commander in chief, reported the Central Broadcasting Station and Pyongyang Broadcasting Services, and the Central TV Broadcasting Station on December 23.

• Chairman Kim Jeong-il inspected the unit934(Central Broadcasting Station on December 25), commanding officers of the unit109(Central Broadcasting Station on December 26), and the unit under the unit3993(Central Broadcasting Station on December 27).

• Commemorating the 89 th birthday of Chairman Kim’s natural mother, Kim Jeong-suk(December 24), North Korea held several events including athletic meeting, film show, and celebrations, reported the Central Broadcasting Station on December 24.

• North Korea commemorated the 34 th Constitution Day through the editorial of the Rodong Daily, and reflections of various circles without specific events, reported the Rodong Daily, the Central Broadcasting Station, and Pyongyang Broadcasting Services on December 27.

• The Central Broadcasting Station and Pyongyang Broadcasting Services reported on December 25 that a chicken farm in Sariwon city is being rebuilt.

• North Korea publicized that its athletes had obtained excellent results at the diverse international games, reported the Central Broadcasting Station on December 27.

• The Central Broadcasting Station reported on December 28 that a commemorative concert for the 250 th birthday of Mozart was held at the Moranbong Theatre in Pyongyang on December 28.

Foreign Affairs

• The second phase of the fifth-round six-party talks was resumed in Beijing from December 18 to 22 and the implementation of the September 19 Joint Statement was discussed. In addition, working-level talks regarding the BDA issue was held at the embassies of the U.S. and North Korea . The six-party talks came to an end, adopting the chairman’s declaration.
