Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit 1324

   Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected KPA Unit 1324. He saw the records showing the victorious and proud path covered by the unit.
    He highly appreciated the exploits performed by the unit, noting that it is the unit of merits as it fully demonstrated the heroic stamina of the KPA in the defence of the country and the socialist construction.
    He learned about the unit's performance of duty before watching soldiers' training.
    He set forth tasks to be undertaken to increase the combat capability of the unit in every way, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that it has firmly equipped its servicepersons with the WPK's Juche-oriented combat methods by building good facilities for training and organizing intensive combat and political training and that as a result, they are performing their duties with a high degree of revolutionary vigilance and in a responsible manner, always keeping themselves combat-ready.
    Going round a general lecture room, education room, video room and other entertainment and educational facilities, he learned about how political work is conducted among the servicepersons of the unit.
    All the units of the KPA are conducting energetic information and agitation activities full of militancy and enthusiasm, imbuing the servicepersons with the fighting spirit, he said, adding that political and ideological work is a central point to be held fast to by the KPA, an army strong in ideology and faith.
    He took deep care of the soldiers' living, going round facilities for supply service.
    He highly praised the unit's commanding officers for valuing and taking deep care of their soldiers as their real brothers and sisters would do, pleased to learn that the unit has made thorough-going preparations for wintering so that they may spend winter in warm rooms.
    The KPA soldiers are assiduously managing their economic life by their own efforts though they are stationed in the very unfavorable area, he said, adding that the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude displayed by the KPA serves as a powerful engine dynamically advancing the times and the revolution.
    He gave the servicepersons of the unit a pair of binoculars and an automatic rifle as gifts and had a photo session with them.
    He was accompanied by KPA Generals Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong and Vice Department Director of the C.C., WPK Hwang Pyong So.
