Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected the Kamnamu Battery honored with the title of the Thrice Three-Revolution Red Flag of KPA Unit 595. He met Son Kyong Sil, political instructor of the battery who is the eldest daughter of Om Pok Sun's soldiers' family, and Kim Yong Bok, battery commander who is granddaughter by a daughter of a coastal artilleryman on Wolmi Island to praise their patriotic deeds of standing guard over the country with arms following in the footsteps of their parents.
Going round the firing positions, he was informed of how the battery was performing its guard duty and acquainted himself with its training.
He set forth tasks which would serve as guidelines for increasing the combat capability of the battery.
Then he made the rounds of an educational room, a bedroom, a mess hall, a wash-cum-bath house, a subsidiary food store of the battery and a saltern built by the battery on its own, the compound of barracks and other places. He took deep care of the soldiers' service and living, appreciating their art performance full of optimism.
He highly appreciated the achievements made by the battery in the past, noting that the women's coastal battery associated with immortal revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung is a model for the whole army in all aspects including the training to bolster the combat capability, the management of the unit and mass cultural and art activities.
Several generations have been replaced by new ones at the battery since the President visited it but it has creditably fulfilled the oath taken by it before the President generation after generation, he said, adding that this ideological and moral power of the army serves as a source of the strength to win one victory after another.
He posed for a photograph with the servicepersons of the battery, expressing the belief that they would creditably play a vanguard role in carrying out the Songun revolution in the future, too.
He was accompanied by Ri Jae Il, first vice department director of the C.C., WPK, and Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the same.
