Diamond Jubilee of Kum Song University of Politics Marked

Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place on Nov. 4 to mark the 60th anniversary of Kum Song University of Politics. Conveyed at the meeting was a congratulatory message sent by the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to the teachers, employees and students of the university.
Basing himself on the brilliant tradition gained in training revolutionary cadres during the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, President Kim Il Sung founded the university on Nov. 5, Juche 35 (1946), the message said, adding:
Kim Jong Il set forth a revolutionary policy to improve and strengthen the educational work at the university as required by the process of modeling the whole society on the Juche idea and has wisely led the work of the university to successfully train young political workers and officials of working people's organizations.
Kum Song University of Politics has trained many officials of working people's organizations including those of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League loyal to the Party and the leader and fully prepared politically and practically in the annals of the revolution and construction, regarding the Party's leadership as its lifeline. It has thus made a contribution to increasing the militant function and role of the organizations and educating and remolding broad masses to rally them close around the Party, the message noted, and continued:
The university has developed into the WPK's reliable centre of training cadres of working people's organizations as it is staffed with educational and scientific forces loyal to the Party and the revolution and having high qualifications and equipped with modern educational facilities and the graduates from the university have played an important role in the work of working people's organizations and socialist construction.
Han Yun Jong, rector of the university, made a report, which was followed by speeches.
Present at the meeting were Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, officials concerned and teachers, employees, students and graduates of the university.
