Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected KPA Unit 1112 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment. He was accompanied by KPA Generals Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong and Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK.
He dropped in at the servicepersons' hall where he saw combat records of the unit shining with victory and glory and heard its history.
The unit won shining victories in the Fatherland Liberation War fought to beat back the imperialist allied forces and in the protracted confrontation with the enemies, thus fully demonstrating the heroic spirit of the KPA, he noted, underscoring the need for its servicepersons to preserve this glorious tradition to achieve one victory after another in the future, too.
After looking round various kinds of useful educational materials on display in the hall, he praised the unit for having used entertainment and educational facilities on a regular basis to conduct an effective political and ideological education. He acquainted himself with the unit's performance of duty before watching the training of its soldiers.
He set forth tasks to be carried out to increase the combat capability of the unit, greatly satisfied to see the servicepersons of the unit reliably standing guard over the defence line of the country, firmly equipped with the Juche-oriented tactics of the WPK. Walking round the compound of the barracks reminding one of a rest home, he learnt in detail about how the unit is managed.
All the units of the KPA have reached a high level not only in the combat and political training but in their management, he said, stressing this shining success clearly shows what a high level the KPA has reached in the fields of ideology, morality, culture and traits as a standard-bearer and main force for the Songun revolution. Then he took deep care of the living of the servicepersons, going round a bedroom, a mess hall, a kitchen, a wash-cum-bath house, a subsidiary food store and other logistic facilities.
He spared time to watch soldiers of a company of the unit having a gathering to boast their native places.
Hearing them expressing their ardent love for their native places and the homeland, he said that one strong in love for his native place has fervent patriotism and one strong in patriotism has a high degree of revolutionary enthusiasm.
Expressing great satisfaction over the fact that the unit is conducting the socialist and patriotic education of the soldiers in a new form and by a unique method, he underlined the need for all fields to earnestly learn from the anti-Japanese guerilla-style of political work conducted by the KPA in a unique manner to suit the sentiment, emotion and mental characteristics of servicepersons. He had a photo session with the servicepersons of the unit.
