Consciousness, One of Attributes of Man, Social Being

Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The Juche idea expounds that consciousness is one of the attributes of man, the social being. Consciousness is an attribute of man, the social being who regulates all the activities to understand and transform the world and himself.
Man, different from other organisms that blindly act on their biological instinct, is a conscious social being that purposefully adjusts all his activities for understanding and changing the world and himself.
What man understands the world means grasping the essence and motion laws of things and phenomena existing in the objective world. And what man understands himself means to understand his interests in relation with the objective things and the ability for transforming them.
Basing himself on the understanding of the world and himself, man works out a plan to change them and conducts purposeful and conscious activities for carrying it into practice.
The conscious activities of man differ from action of other organisms.
Consciousness is the inherent attribute of conscious man.
It is the highest function of man's brain, the most developed organ among his physical organs.
The brain plays a pivotal role in man's activities while consciousness, the product of the brain, controls all his acts.
Man with such consciousness is the most advanced and powerful being in the world who understands the world and grasps the laws governing its movement and development, becomes aware of his independent requirement and interests and remoulds the world in a purposeful and conscious way.
The man-centered socialism of the DPRK is an advanced one in which the people's consciousness is given full rein.
