Wreaths Laid at Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong

   Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong Tuesday on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU). Seen on the wreath-laying stand was a wreath sent by General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
    Standing at the cemetery were guards of honor.
    Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were leading officials of the Workers' Party of Korea, the army and the state, the chairpersons of the friendly parties, officials of the Party, armed forces and power organs, public organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the KPA and people from all walks of life in Pyongyang.
    National anthem was played. Laid there amid the playing of wreath-laying music were wreaths in the name of the Central Committee of the WPK, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet.
    Placed there then were wreaths in the name of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, public organizations, ministries and national institutions, KPA units and scientific, educational, cultural, art, public health and media institutions and the Party and power organs, factories and farms in Pyongyang.
    The ribbons of the wreaths bore letters "Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs!"
    The participants paid silent tribute to the revolutionary martyrs who devoted their all to the fight for the accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Juche started with the formation of the DIU, true to the Songun idea and leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
    Then there was a march-past of the guard of honor of the KPA.
    The participants laid bouquets before the bust of Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese war hero.
    Then they looked round the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery.
