U.S. Decision to Finance Anti-DPRK Broadcasting Services Assailed

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Reconciliation Council gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA Thursday blasting the U.S. decision to finance the anti-DPRK broadcasting services in the hands of the anti-communist conservative organizations in south Korea: The U.S. State Department was reported to have decided to make a financial allocation in the fiscal 2007 to start on Oct. 1 for three anti-DPRK broadcasting services including one operated by a group of defectors.
The U.S. does not conceal its intention to continue such financial assistance in the next fiscal year, too.
The decision is one more intolerable provocation against the DPRK and a vicious act of inciting confrontation between Koreans in breach of the June 15 joint declaration and the north-south agreement on stopping each other's smear propaganda.
As already known, the U.S. worked out "North Korean Human Rights Act" in October of 2004 and decided to finance the anti-DPRK plot-breeding organizations from its government budget every year.
As the U.S. is now under fire for being the world's biggest human rights abuser, its policy for stifling the DPRK is rejected in different parts of the world and its human rights rackets kicked up by undesirable plot-breeding organizations prove futile, it is now left with no option but to use such criminals as human scum for its smear campaign against the DPRK.
This once again betrays the deplorable position of the U.S. and its brigandish ambition to stifle the DPRK come what may.
The U.S. is sadly mistaken if it calculates that such mean smear campaign will help bring down Korean-style socialism whereby all the servicepersons and people are single-mindedly united.
The U.S. had better stop such clumsy farce and the south Korean authorities should not permit the operation of such anti-national and anti-reunification broadcasting services in breach of the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.
The south Korean authorities should take a resolute measure to stop the broadcasting at once, pondering over the serious impact it will have on the inter-Korean relations.
