Internal Affairs

• Chairman Kim Jeong-il inspected a company under the unit 8211 and gave an on-the-spot guidance at Mt. Geumgang.

• Recently, North Korea held scientific discussion meetings in the Science Education Department, Koryo Medicine Department, and Pharmacy Department.

Foreign Affairs

• North Korea reported that Kim Young-nam, chairman of the presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly attended the 14 th Summit Conference of the Non-alignment Movement, held in Havana, Cuba, from September 15 to 16.

• Kim Young-jae was appointed North Korean ambassador to Russia.

• The volume of trade with China and Thailand in July rose but that with Japan decreased, compared with the same period of the last year.
