Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il received a message of greetings from V. Putin, Russian president, today on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the DPRK. The message says:
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, an independent and sovereign state, was founded in Korea on September 9, 1948.
Many important and significant events have since then taken place in the relations between our two countries.
Today friendship and cooperation between Russia and the DPRK is full of new contents and reaching a higher stage.
I am convinced that the dialogue between our states will make a great contribution to peace, stability and security in the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Asia.
Your Excellency Kim Jong Il
I wish you good health and greater success in your responsible state work and hope that the friendly DPRK will achieve new success in socio-economic development of the country.
Sincerely yours.
