The Central Broadcasting Station reported on September 3 that Chairman Kim Jong-il gave on-the-spot guidance at the factory for raising and processing chickens and machine tool factory, located in Guseong-dong, Pyonganbuk-do. Kim Jong-il has ever conducted on-the-spot guidance at the machine tool factory in 2001, 2002, and 2004, and at the chicken factory in 2002.
The Central Broadcasting Station reported on September 7 that North Korea held ‘The 9 th National Invention and New Technology Exhibition’ on September 6. The Exhibition, expected to continue until September 15, displays technological fruits that can contribute to improving the national people’s standard of living.
North Korea won the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Soccer Championship at Locomotiv Stadium in Moscow , reported the Central Broadcasting Station on September 4.
According to the Central Broadcasting Station, North Korea is concentrating on harvesting at various places including Hwanghaenam-do.
Inter-Korean Affairs
Pyongyang Broadcasting Services reported on September 5 that the Rodong Daily released comments titled ‘Intolerable Strategic Maneuver Against DPRK (unofficially translated)’, in which it criticized a report by a South Korean group for abductees on those who had been kidnapped to the North during Korean War and totally denied the existence of ‘South Korean abductees.’
Commemorating the 140 th anniversary of the day it sank the US ship General Sherman, North Korea held a mass rally in Pyongyang and asserted it should strengthen a holy war against the U.S, reported the Central Broadcasting Station on September 2.
