Inter-Korean Sports Talks Held

   Kaesong, June 30 (KCNA) -- Talks were held between the north and the south of Korea here on Thursday to discuss the matter of forming their unified team to participate in the 29th Olympiad to be held in Beijing in 2008. Present at the talks from the north side were delegates led by Son Kwang Ho, vice-chairman of the National Olympic Committee, and from the south side delegates with Pak Song In, vice-chairman of the Olympic Committee, as chief delegate.
    Both sides had an exhaustive discussion on the matters related to the formation of the unified team and made public a joint press release.
    According to the release, they shared the understanding that it conforms with the basic spirit of the June 15 joint declaration for the north and the south to participate in the Beijing Olympiad in 2008 as a unified team and agreed to hold the next talks at Mt. Kumgang resort in mid-July to continue the discussion on technical matters for the formation of the unified team.
