Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, inspected the young cadres training sub-unit of KPA Large Combined Unit 324. After being saluted, he learned in detail about how the education is conducted there.
He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the sub-unit is conducting effective education by sufficiently securing educational equipment and materials for study to help the trainees acquire versatile knowledge and improve their cultural attainment.
Then he went round a bedroom, a mess hall, a wash-cum-bath house, a non-stable food store, a barn and other supply service facilities. He highly appreciated the achievements made by the sub-unit in the last period, noting that it has done a lot not only in the education aimed at training an increasing number of able young cadres but in the overall work including its management.
After making the round of the sub-unit, he set forth important tasks, which would serve as guidelines in training young cadres.
Future hinges on how to prepare the young people as most vital pillars of society and on how to enhance their role, he said, adding that the work with youth is particularly important for the KPA made up of young people.
Pointing out that in order to prepare all trainees as able young cadres it is necessary to steadily improve the contents of education and the qualifications of the teachers, he specified the orientation and ways to do so.
If the politico-ideological education is to be conducted in a unique manner to suit the characteristic features of the young soldiers, it is very important to raise the political and cultural levels of the young cadres and improve their organizing and guiding ability and, at the same time, help them acquire qualifications as standard-bearers of the ranks possessed of great agitating power and elocution, in particular, he noted, calling for directing great efforts to this work.
He had a photograph taken with servicepersons and trainees of the sub-unit.
He was accompanied by Ri Yong Chol, member of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and first vice department director of the C.C., WPK, and Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the C.C., WPK.
