Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit 215

   Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, inspected KPA Unit 215 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led Seventh Regiment. After being saluted, he looked round the room devoted to the unit's history.
    He said that the unit should always remember the benevolence bestowed upon it by President Kim Il Sung, noting that it grew stronger to be a matchless combat unit thanks to his wise guidance and meticulous instructions.
    He highly appreciated the successes made by the unit, recalling that it has taken the lead in upholding the WPK's Songun leadership in the defence of the country and at socialist construction sites.
    After watching the training of the command staff, he expressed satisfaction over the fact that the commanding officers of the unit are paying primary attention to the training aimed to acquire a high level of military technique and commanding ability.
    Going round a servicepersons' hall, a library, a video recording and wire broadcasting room and other entertainment and educational facilities, he praised the unit for conducting diverse politico-ideological work in a unique manner to suit the characteristic features of its servicepersons.
    After being told that there is growing enthusiasm among the soldiers to study through the library, he appreciated this as a very good thing. He noted that a revolutionary should study regularly and study and study till the last moments of his or her life.
    Watching the barracks clad in the thick verdure of various species of trees and their compound kept neat and tidy, he highly praised the unit for having spruced up the compound like a park.
    Then he made the rounds of supply service facilities. He was greatly satisfied with the good living conditions provided to the soldiers and indicated tasks to be tackled to improve the supply service and ways to do so.
    He highly appreciated the achievements made by the unit in its work to implement the WPK's military line.
    He had a photograph taken with the servicepersons of the unit.
    He was accompanied by Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK.
