The Central and Pyongyang Broadcasting Station reported on May 11 that Chairman Kim Jong Il had inspected the female battalion under army unit 838. Chairman Kim Jong Il was accompanied by deputy directors of the central committee of the Party, Ri Yong Chol, Ri Jae Il and deputy director of the central committee of the Party, Hwang Pyong So.
According to the Central Broadcasting Station on May 10, Chairman Kim Jong Il gave on-site guidance to newly built Pyongyang Musical University and No. 110 pig factory.
The Chinese Economy and Trade delegation paid a visit to North Korea on May 8 and attended the second meeting of the DPRK-Sino cooperative committee on economy, trade and science and technology.
Inter-Korean Affairs
Unification Minister Lee Jong-seok paid a visit to the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.
The 12 th inter-Korean contact for the reconnection of railways and roads was held at the Office of Inter-Korean Economic Cooperation in Gaeseong from May 11 to 12.
According to the Pyongyang Broadcasting Station on May 5, 2006 , the North proposed to hold a working-level contact for former President Kim Dae-jung’s planned visit to Pyongyang .
