Farm Machines and Vehicles Sent to Co-op Farms

Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- The DPRK National Defence Commission sent farm machines and vehicles to the cooperative farms in Miru area in North Hwanghae Province. The Miru Plain is an intermediary region in Korea which President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il visited several times and devoted all his wisdom and energies to the development of agriculture and the improvement of the standard of the farmers' living. Kim Jong Il again visited this area in September last year to indicate ways of bringing about a turn in farming by hastening waterway project and land realignment, raising the fertility of soil and realizing comprehensive mechanization. A meeting was held in Singye County on Friday to convey the farm machines and vehicles to the above-said farms.
Present there were Vice Marshal of the Korean People's Army Kim Yong Chun, member of the DPRK National Defence Commission and chief of the general staff of the KPA, Choe Ryong Hae, chief secretary of the North Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Kyong Sik, Minister of Agriculture, officials concerned and agricultural workers.
Kim Yong Chun made an address at the meeting.
