Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit

    Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, inspected KPA Unit 3406. He acquainted himself with the unit's performance of duty. He went round combat and technical apparatuses before watching the servicepersons in training. He set forth tasks to be tackled to increase the combat capability of the unit, expressing satisfaction over the fact that it has successfully arranged technical lecture and training halls and intensified trainings so that all the commanding officers and men have become well versed in combat and technical equipment and acquired high commanding ability and combat capability.
    Our army and people are turning out as one in the sacred anti-U.S. struggle with burning hatred for the U.S. imperialist aggressors and the unshakable resolution to take revenge upon them, he said, adding that no force on earth can match the single-mindedly united forces in the DPRK which no weapon can ever frighten or destroy.
    He highly praised the servicepersons of the unit for having prized and handled their combat and technical equipment like the apples of their eyes just as the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters did and successfully performed their duties with the firm resolution to devotedly protect the happiness of the people and the socialist system of the DPRK centred on the popular masses.
    Then he took deep care of the service and living of the servicepersons, going round an education room, a bedroom, a mess hall, a wash-cum-bath house, a non-staple food store, an outdoor resting place and other places.
    He called upon all the commanding officers to pay deep attention to the supply service work, noting it is very good that the unit has provided good living conditions to the servicepersons by assiduously managing its economic life.
    He gave the servicepersons of the unit a pair of binoculars, a machine gun and an automatic rifle as gifts and had a photo session with them.
    He was accompanied by KPA Generals Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong and Vice Department Director of the WPK Central Committee Hwang Pyong So.
