KPA Meeting Held

    Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- A meeting of activists in the movement for winning the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment of the Korean People's Army took place in Pyongyang on March 13 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the instruction given by Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il to the whole army to wage the movement. It was a historic meeting as it marked an occasion of bringing about an epochal turn in putting the movement on a higher stage as required by the advancing revolutionary cause of Songun and the development of the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK and thereby strengthening and developing the KPA into ranks of human bullets and bombs devotedly defending the leader and a matchless revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu.
    The meeting reviewed the successes and experience gained in the course of the vigorous movement in the last period and discussed tasks to be tackled to develop the movement in depth and thus increase the combat capability of the KPA in every way and ways to do so.
    Present there were KPA Vice Marshal Jo Myong Rok, director of the General Political Department of the KPA, Vice Marshal Kim Yong Chun, chief of the General Staff of the KPA, Vice Marshal Kim Il Chol, minister of the People's Armed Forces, officials of the ministry and commanding officers, political officers and servicepersons of KPA units who have distinguished themselves in the movement and the movement for winning the title of three-revolution red flag.
    Read out at the meeting was a congratulatory message sent by the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea to its participants. The reporter and speakers at the meeting said that the movement was a revolutionary mass movement of the highest form to let all servicepersons learn from the example set by the fighters of the 7th regiment in defending the headquarters of the revolution at the cost of their lives during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and thus prepare all of them as human bullets and bombs devotedly defending the headquarters of the revolution so as to train the KPA into the first line death-defying corps of Kim Jong Il. Kim Jong Il's initiation of the movement marked a historic event as it paved a true way for strengthening and developing the KPA into a strong revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu to defend and glorify the country, the revolution and socialism, they noted. They referred to the fact that in the course of the movement the KPA has produced many genuine heroic servicepersons and human bullets and bombs who devotedly defended the leader to be always remembered by the people, effected collective innovations in making combat preparations and boosting its combat capability and brought about a fresh change in improving the material and cultural living standards of the servicepersons.
    They called upon the Party organizations at all levels in the army, commanding officers and political officers to intensify the political and ideological education of servicepersons to successfully train them into human bullets and bombs that firmly trust and devotedly defend Kim Jong Il only. They also underscored the need to continue dynamically waging the movement to bring about collective innovations in the work to increase the combat capability of the units.
