Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work Observed

    Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today dedicates a signed article to the 25th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "On Further Improving and Strengthening the Party's Ideological Work" (March 8, 1981). The work lucidly clarifies all the principled issues arising in developing the ideological work of the Workers' Party of Korea onto a new higher stage as required by the developing reality including the issue of strengthening the ideological education to bring up the revolutionaries of Juche type and the information and agitation work for socialist economic construction and the issue of improving the form and method of the Party's ideological work and providing an effective guidance of the party committees to the ideological work.
    The work serves as an immortal great programme as it clearly indicates the way of strengthening the militancy of the revolutionary ranks in every way and successfully accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche started by President Kim Il Sung by steadily developing in depth the Party's ideological work as required by the era and the developing revolution, the article says, and goes on:
    The single-minded unity of the Korean revolutionary ranks grew stronger than ever before and the DPRK displayed its high dignity and spirit as a socialist bulwark even when the revolutionary consciousness and class awareness of people were paralyzed and socialism collapsed in some countries engaged in socialist construction. This would be unthinkable without the Party's ideological work which has been steadily developed in depth under the guidance of Kim Jong Il.
    The army and the people in the DPRK have grown stronger in idea and faith and the DPRK has vigorously advanced toward the high eminence of a great prosperous powerful nation under the banner of Songun despite the vicious moves for aggression, isolation and suffocation, ideological and cultural poisoning of the enemies of revolution including the U.S. imperialists since the "Arduous March", in particular. This is the fruition of the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il who has consolidated the political and ideological position of the Korean revolution by improving and strengthening the Party's ideological work as required by the Songun era.
    He has provided wise guidance to the development of the Party's ideological work in the era of Songun. He clarified the aim and orientation of the ideological work by developing in depth the Songun idea of Juche to be guidelines of our era and saw to it that the People's Army set an example in improving the form and method of the ideological work and it was followed by the society.
