The Pyongyang Broadcasting Service claimed (June 26), “The objective of the games for the so-called strengthening of strategic flexibility on the part of the United States lies in mobilizing and turning high-tech the US forces occupying South Korea and the forces surrounding the Korean peninsula in order to facilitate the invasion of the DPRK.”
Inter-Korean Issues
The Central Broadcasting Station reported (June 24), “President Roh Moo-hyun met with the North Korean delegation headed by Kwon Ho-ung, the chief councilor of the DPRK cabinet, on June 23. A joint press release was issued at the 15th North-South Ministerial Talks (Seoul, June 21-24).”
The Pyongyang Broadcasting Service asserted (June 25), “Being anti-US is a manifestation of the spirit of self-reliance. Only when we cling onto the ideology of ‘by our nation alone’ and instill the spirit of national self-reliance can the day of reunification actually unfold before us.”
